Linda Gorham: For the past 17 years, Linda has been performing nationally year-round as a professional storyteller, speaker, and workshop presenter. She has been featured several times on radio and television, most notably on Chicago’s WTTW, Channel 11 show, "Arts Across Illinois." Linda’s new CD, "Common Sense and Uncommon Fun" has won four National awards including Parents’ Choice and Storytelling World. It’s great for parents, teachers and schools seeking to emphasize important character traits such as respect for others, caring for our environment, using common sense, and more. The best part – Linda does all of this important teaching without the "preaching!" And just in case, you didn’t know . . . Linda is known as the interactive storyteller with the gold shoes.
Description of programs: Dynamic and exciting, award winning storyteller, Linda inspires her audiences by using movement, humor, and sometimes zaniness as she tells imaginative multicultural folktales updated with "attitude." Her stories take many forms – from funny and inspirational, to educational and thought provoking. They also reinforce values, spark imaginations and explore ideas and traditions from many cultures. And be prepared -- many of her tales actively involve the audience. Get ready to chant, get ready to move, get ready for fun! Whether Linda is performing for adults or children, her energy has been contagious and her stories memorable. If there is a child in all of us, Linda will find it!
