""Learning Through Adventure"

Adventure Quest Institute: An educational, non-profit organization created to teach, to motivate, and to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds.

Description of program: Robert and Karla Stradley guide students through an adventurous, experimental presentation highlighting the captivating world of dog sledding. Experience the excitement of Alaska's Iditarod through stories, photos and close-up interaction with dogs from champion Iditarod kennels. Students may touch and examine many exhibits including a training cart and dog sled loaded with gear a musher must carry while competing in the Iditarod. "Learning through adventure" is an extremely effective way of communicating information, promoting a drug-free life, and instilling admirable character traits such as perseverance, responsibility to self and others, and compassion. These school programs link literature, history, science and social studies curricula with a fun and exciting experience students will remember for a lifetime.
